Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Taali collects, why, and the choices you have. Cleviorr Infotech Private Limited is the Data Fiduciary for Taali under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
In short
- We collect only what the app needs: your name, mobile number and the garba plans you make.
- We never store your selfies, card or UPI details, or your exact location.
- We don't sell your data and don't use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect and why

| Name and mobile number | To create your account, sign you in with a one-time code (sent by WhatsApp or SMS), and show your name to your squad. |
| City and area you choose | To sort garbas by distance. If you tap “Use my current location”, your phone's location is used on your device to pick the nearest area. It stays on your phone; we don't receive or store your exact location. |
| Garba plans, squads, votes, singers you follow | To show your nights, let your squad plan together, and send alerts you ask for. Totals like “120 going on Night 7” are shown without names. |
| Crowd reports | To show how busy a garba is. Reports are combined and shown without your name. |
| Garba Meter step counts | To show your stats and squad leaderboard. Steps are counted on your phone; only nightly totals are saved. |
| Selfies for AI Garba Avatar | Sent to our image-generation provider only to create your avatar. Not stored by us. |
| Payment records | Order ID, payment ID, amount and status, to activate Pro and for tax records. Card, UPI and bank details are handled only by Razorpay. |
| Emergency contact | Stored only on your phone, to let you call or message them from the Safety tab. |
| App preferences | Theme, city and similar settings are kept in your browser's storage on your device. |

2. Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help us run Taali, under agreements that limit their use of the data:
- Supabase: database and sign-in (servers in Mumbai, India)
- Vercel: website hosting
- Razorpay: payments
- MSG91 / WhatsApp (Meta): delivering your one-time sign-in code
- Our AI image provider: creating avatars from photos you upload
- Maps and places providers: map images and nearby food. They receive venue locations, not your personal details.
People in your squad see your first name, the nights you're going, your votes and your step totals. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect someone's safety. We never sell personal data.
3. How long we keep it
Account details are kept until you delete your account. Season data (plans, squads, votes, steps and crowd reports) is deleted or anonymised by the end of the following March. Payment records are kept as long as Indian tax law requires.
4. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent (which may stop some features working), nominate someone to act for you, and raise a grievance. Write to grievance@gotaali.app with your registered mobile number, or use the Contact page. We reply within 15 days. If you're not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
5. Children
Taali is meant for people 18 and older. Younger users may use it only with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has signed up without consent, contact us and we'll delete the account.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by database security rules so each person sees only their own data (and their squad's), and payment data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure; we'll inform you and the authorities as the law requires if a breach affects you.
7. Changes
We'll post updates here and tell you in the app about significant changes.
